Oreo Smoothie
It has been a long wet winter in Taipei and we haven’t had a chance to make a Someday Smoothie in a while, so as the days are finally getting longer and warmer we thought it was about time for a celebration of spring. Also it happens that Oreo’s are celebrating their 100th birthday this week so as if we needed another excuse here comes the Oreo inspired smoothie.
It has layers of vanilla and chocolate so if you cant decide if you are a chocolate lover or a vanilla fiend this smoothie covers both bases! A delicious & decadent treat for sipping on the occasional bright spring day.
Ingredients
- 4 Oreos
- 3 Tablespoons Chocolate Sauce
- 1 Cup Milk
- 6 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
- 4 Ice Cubes
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 3 Drops vanilla essence
Instructions
- Place a tall glass in to the fridge to cool.
- Add half the ice cream, half the milk, 2 ice cubes and 1 frozen banana into the blender along with the vanilla essence.
- Blend until a constant thickness is achieved then pour into a second glass and place in the fridge.
- Add 3 of the Oreo's and the rest of the ingredients minus a drizzle of chocolate sauce into the blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Remove the glass from the fridge and alternate pouring the vanilla and chocolate smoothies into the glass.
- Once the glass is full drizzle the remaining chocolate sauce in circles on the top of the smoothie.
- Run a toothpick through the chocolate sauce to create fun patterns.
- Crumble the last Oreo over the top.
- Sit down in a sunny spot, relax and indulge.
Next week will also be Amy’s Dad’s birthday so Happy Birthday Dad – Love you and hope you have a fantastic day!!!
